How do I apply?
To apply for social housing in Prescott and Russell, please contact Suzanne Sauvé, Tenant Placement Clerk.
The Tenant Placement Clerk manages the centralized waiting list for social housing and is located at 59 Court Street, 2nd Floor in L’Orignal and can be reached by phone at 613-675-4642, extension 6504.
An application form can be obtained from Social Housing Division office in L’Orignal, or the office of any participating housing provider. You can also
download and print the application form. Read the instructions carefully and complete the application. Make sure that the Release and Consent/Declaration on the application has been signed by all members of your household, who are 16 years or older.
All household members must submit proof of Canadian residency and proof of their current income.
Submit your application and all applicable supporting documents to the Prescott and Russell Social Housing Division by mail or in person. Applications by fax will not be accepted.
The Social Housing Division determines eligibility for rent-geared-to-income (RGI) housing based on a complete application only. Your application will not be considered for eligibility if the application form is incomplete or if documents are missing.
You are responsible for keeping your file up-to-date at least once per year. You must also notify our office if:
- Your address changes
- Your phone number changes
- The number of people on your application changes
- The contact information on your application changes
Personal information under your application form is collected pursuant to the Social Housing Reform Act, 2000, Sections 162, 163, 164 and 165 or the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, (R.S.O. 1990, cM.56) and will be used to determine RGI housing eligibility.
