Since the signing of an agreement between the Federal and Provincial Governments in 2005, the Social Housing Division has been administering a variety of programs either for the construction, renovation or a down payment assistance to access affordable housing.
Affordable housing is defined as a unit whose rent is below 20% of the cost of the average rent in the area in which it is located. The Social Housing Division is developing a Delivery and Fiscal Plan of the Investment in Affordable Housing for Ontario Programs.
