Counties or municipalities?
There are two levels of municipal government in Prescott and Russell : your local municipality and the United Counties of Prescott and Russell.
The distribution of jurisdictions for area planning and land division may be difficult to understand. Do not hesitate to contact your local municipality or the United Counties’ Planning and Forestry Department to find answers to your questions.
Please refer to the local municipality for:
- Building and demolition permits
- Zoning questions
- Municipal taxes
- waste management/recycling
Please refer to the United Counties for:
- Creation of lots
- Changes to any existing lot
- Any inquiries for the City of Clarence-Rockland should be addressed directly to them.
Please refer to both levels for:
- Amendments to an Official Plan,
- To establish a new subdivision or condominium plan.
