ACTIVITIES Bike Rally 2010
You may now register for our 2010 Bike Rally event that will take place in the Casselman / St-Albert area, Saturday, August 21st. Visit our section Activities.
What is the trail?
…from east to west, it’s a pleasure all through landscapes and kilometres !
The 72 km Recreational Trail is built on the abandoned Via Rail track. Its surface is mainly made from stone dust. Sections of about two kilometres each, in St-Eugène, Vankleek Hill, Plantagenet and Bourget are paved.
The trail is a link between Montreal in the east and Ottawa in the west. For those preferring a one-shot ride, the trail ensures a walk practically free of automotive traffic. Check our Cycling Guide for suggestion of on-route loops.

Pavilions
Along the trail, rest areas nest by the trail near St-Eugène, Vankleek Hill, Plantagenet, Bourget and Hammond.
Pavilions include sheltered picnic tables, restrooms, trash bin as well as an information kiosk, a good spot to take a break.
Interpretative panels
Interprative panels have been installed. They relate on history, nature, agriculture and culture of our region. Take time to stop and get informed. Our region has quite a story to tell.
