SOCIAL HOUSING

The Social Housing Division (SHD) under Social Services Department of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR) owns and manages 311 family, senior and single adults units within its service area. These units are a mix of semi-detached houses and apartments ranging from 1 to 5 bedrooms.

The SHD also manages approximately 91 units with private sector landlords and all rents are subsidized based on family income. Furthermore, SHD’s responsibilities include the administration of 12 non profit housing corporations comprised of 500 units as well as the management of a centralised waiting list for Rent-Geared-to-Income (RGI) applicants. The SHD’s aim is to provide affordable and suitable housing to persons eligible for RGI units.  (see Social Housing Information)
